An evening full of soul, pop & jazz
During a week of creativity and fun, Appleton recorded their latest CD Friesian Chair in their favourite studio in the North of the Netherlands, the beautiful province of Friesland. The new CD is a mix of soul, pop and jazz combined with compositions by members of the band.
Classic soul numbers, Aint Nobody and Son of a Preacherman, are followed by Roxanne and Imagine. Appleton’s style combines a creative mix of music from the sixties right up today. The eight-piece band complements Barbara Drennan’s jazzy soulful voice with a tight rhythm section and cool vibes from the trumpet, trombone and sax.
