Appleton was founded in the Frankfurt Main region in 1967 by the brothers John,  Chris and Stephen plus Werner Seifert. A year later they were joined by Harald Terkowsky. In the beginning Stephen, the drummer was only 11 years old. The band performed at school and 
village fetes, parties and other events.

After a break of 25 years the five members got together again and decided to reinvent Appleton.
John (keyboard), Chris (bass), Stephen (drums), Harald (lead guitar) were joined by Barbara Drennan (vocals),
Thomas Siffling (trumpet), Chris Perschke (trombone) and Karen Schäfer (saxophone and flute).

Today their style is a combination of jazz, rock and funk.

Appleton has performed in Quasimodo – Berlin - October 2007;  Stoomfabrik – Amsterdam – 2009/2010 and Ronnie Scott’s – London- October 2009. Appleton also performed in St Christoph am Alberg in the winter of 2009 and 2010.
